Helper Workshop - Empowering caregivers to wear your baby and toddler using safe and ergonomic methods (a 2-monthly event)
Ever seen helpers carrying their employer's baby using traditional cloth around their necks?
Ever struggle with fear on whether your helper is using a safe method that will not impede child's growth and development?
Ever thought of wanting to upgrade your helper's caregiving skillset but unsure how?
Here's your opportunity!
In this workshop, your helper will be taught:
- the right way of using a ring sling (the most common method adopted by helpers) without hurting themselves or your precious newborn
- how to position baby safely in an ergonomic woven/mesh sling and carrier (you may bring your own)
- how to posture body right in helper's nature of work so as not to jeopardise their health (with examples and on-the-spot practice)
- the difference between wearing a newborn VS toddler
- fitting adjustment on the spot for your helper’s existing carrier (tips will be given to employer to help remind helper on skillset)
Workshop Tools for each participant will be provided for use during the session:
- a ringsling
- a soft structured carrier
Workshop Tool for sharing:
- 5KG weighted doll
- buckled mesh slings
- some soft structured carriers for exploration (if time permits)
